Getting the carb out of a PA50 (Advice from Fred)
Put it in your garage under an overhanging rafter...
throw a rope over the rafter and loop it under the 'carrier rack on the back
behind the seat...
pull the rope tight...
Then unbolt the bottom bolts on the rear shocks...
Then unbolt the large/long 'thru frame' bolt by where you set your feet...
Now if you pull the rope tighter.. you can raise the frame up off the motor..
Before you raise it too high... unscrew the throttle cable screw at the top
of the carb. And disconnect the fuel line at the carb.
Now hoist the frame up a few inches (maybe 2 inches)
Now swing it out of the way ..to one side (a little).. let it hang.
Now you can remove the 4 reed valve screws (on the motor) and pull the entire
carb/reed valve out
Before you take it apart...mark the float bowl and carb so that you put it back
together the same way
(you can install correct.. or 180 degrees around.. only 1 is right)
Take it apart and slowly and carefully blow out all orifices.
Also remove the 'emulsion tube' in the center of the float 'chamber' right inside
where the main jet screws in...
it will kind of be stuck in... you need a bent piece of wire to reach in the
carb throat and push down on it
Clean all its little holes out.
reassemble
